January 12, 2026The Story Behind SWSA New Jerseys: Why Blue & Yellow?

The new SWSA kits for the 2026 – 2028 seasons have arrived!
During our last uniform cycle we used Hummel’s online design builder to create those jerseys internally. There were many design options and those sublimated jerseys turned out well and helped separate the club from the core jerseys that all clubs purchase.
For this 2 year cycle though, SWSA worked with Hummel’s design team to come up with an entirely custom sublimated jersey. Jerseys that were entirely unique to SWSA, that no other club had, and we did this at no additional cost to our club! The goal of the jersey design was to continue to push forward with the SWSA rebranded colors and logo that we released a couple of years ago.
We had a few meetings with Hummel designers to discuss SWSA, provide them insight into both Woolwich and Swedesboro, and what SWSA was looking to convey in the new jerseys. The design team took the feedback about the towns and our approach to wanting to add in some Scandinavian elements to the jerseys. In the first design samples that Hummel provided us were 3 different black/red styles, and 3 different white/blue/yellow styles. We knew right away that Hummel nailed it after seeing the designs, and after only a few minor modifications we had our final jerseys completed.
We stuck with Hummel core shorts keeping in mind budgets, since custom shorts increase the cost significantly.
Staying true to our core colors, we still have our black and red jersey that represents Woolwich. Most professional clubs use other colors for their second jersey, that don’t necessarily follow with their core branding. With this idea in mind, SWSA wanted to make sure we represented Swedesboro. In order to do this we incorporated blue and yellow colors to represent the Swedish settlement here. In addition to that, the jerseys have patterns that are symbolic to Sweden.
The uniforms are meant to be worn as:
- Black/Red Jersey, Black Shorts, Black Socks (Woolwich)
- White/Blue/Yellow Jersey, Blue Shorts, Blue Socks (Swedesboro)
If a team needs to change uniforms before a game, or at tournament, swapping jerseys is the approach SWSA prefers to keep it simple. Team don’t need to change into the entire other kit in those situations.
We are extremely pleased with how these uniforms came out, their unique style, and we hope the club enjoys the new look. We look forward to seeing them on game days this weekend and beyond!
